What causes a squeeze condition to trigger?
A squeeze occurs when Bollinger Bands contract inside Keltner Channels, indicating volatility has compressed below normal levels. This compression often precedes explosive directional moves as the stored energy releases.
How do I know which direction the breakout will go when the squeeze fires?
The squeeze itself is directionless. Use the momentum histogram to determine likely direction. Positive rising momentum suggests upside breakout. Negative falling momentum points to downside. Many traders wait for the first green dot plus momentum confirmation.
Does a longer squeeze duration mean a bigger move?
Generally yes. More bars in squeeze means more energy is building. A stock in squeeze for 15 bars typically produces a larger move than one at bar 3. The count column helps prioritize which setups are closest to firing with the most stored potential.
